Have you always wanted to try playing a man?  Are you curious to explore masculine physicality?  Come and learn to move like a man!

In this six week course we will look at how stereotypically masculine men move, and explore the main differences between how men and women move.  Each week, we will learn basics like how to walk, stand, pose and gesture like a man.  We will try using elements of costume and props to inspire movement and male characters.  You will learn manly dance routines and work on developing your own male persona(s).

Open to all.   This class is fun, exploratory and physical.

Experience

This course is suitable for complete beginners up to advanced performers.  If you’ve never danced before or have extensive dance/movement experience – the focus and challenge is in adopting a new way of moving.  It is not about getting moves ‘right’ – rather how you individually take on a different body language and make it your own.

I try to make my classes as inclusive as possible and want people to feel safe to explore things without fear of being judged or embarrassed. You won’t be put on the spot and can join in as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. It is important to me that people have fun and have the chance to try something new…and find the joy in moving!

Will you discover a new side to yourself?  Who might your male persona be?  How would it feel to free your body and feel gorgeous, strong and confident?  Book your place and find out!

This course will have limited places so that we can create a supportive group and I can give each of you individual attention and guidance.
