Explosive, colourful and serenely chaotic, Martin Raeburn’s was produced using ‘action painting’ (familiar to fans of Jackson Pollock).
It may seem random, but the work is created very carefully. There are moments of uncertainty, but the style allows him to explore how the different colours hit the board, how they mix with the others, and how they come together for the finished piece.
Martin Raeburn’s new series of paintings was stimulated by the art classes he attended at Crisis, which reignited his imagination.
