“People leave traces of themselves where they feel most comfortable, most worthwhile.” – Haruki Murakami

Over time, traces of ourselves can be found in almost every place and in everything we do. Hidden Traces presents artworks inspired by the trails, marks and impressions we make on the world around us, tracking journeys across the outdoor environment and everyday movements around the spaces we inhabit. Mapping acts as a running theme throughout the work.

The artwork is created by Crisis clients during mono- and screen printing workshops led by artist in residence Jezella Pigott. They used simple processes, such as finger printing, and other printmaking techniques, with gold to highlight important points and to unify the work.
