This exhibition looks at the artist’s recent journey through homelessness.

Moez says: “Having spent five years in Oxford, I finally call it home. The city has always inspired me since my childhood looking at old maps, and the Oxford English Dictionary that my great-grandparents gave me.

My artwork looks at the unchanging skyline of Oxford, relating its iconic architecture to its users and the people who created it. Some of the most beautiful buildings here were built using money from the slave trade; it is important to remember those slaves, since without them Oxford would never have existed as it does today.

The exhibition shows the utopian vision of Oxford as a perfect city, where elite people come to be educated – but where there are also marginalised people on the other side of the class divide. It is a reflection on the real owners of this place: without the achievements of hard-working people and slaves alike, Oxford would not be the Oxford that you know.”
