Melody is a curator and writer who facilitates encounters between people, objects and craft makers. Through acts of gathering people together she creates spaces for sharing experiences of making and questioning contemporary craft practices.

Particularly interested in supporting the work of emerging makers, and those making significant shifts within their practice, she works closely with craft makers as a mentor and as a writer articulating their practice. Her current research focuses on sustainable/responsible making and makers who work with Found Objects.

Melody has a background in archaeology, Museum Education and as a contemporary craft maker (ceramics & metal). These experiences fuelled her passion for the objects we create and use, as well as for engaging people with these objects, and translate into the successful promotion and support of craft makers and their creative practices.

Melody curated the Arts Council funded Makers & Tools project – a collaborative making project connecting 6 makers in the early stages of their careers which explored the relationships between makers and their tools – which had its exhibition at OFS in 2019.
