6.30pm – POPPY SMALLWOOD
Poppy Smallwood is a singer songwriter from Sussex. Her lilting and folksy tunes have captured the imagination of audiences from Edinburgh to St Petersburg. An early promotional poster in Russia neatly captured Poppy’s appeal – it promised that she would “stir the heart of the most hard hearted biscuit.” Poppy’s major influences are a range of contemporary folk and jazz artists from Britain, France and Russia.
7.05pm – CLAIRE LEMASTER
Claire Lemaster creates a space with her lilting voice and delicate guitar sounds which enchants and beguiles. Her powerful vocals glide effortlessly from a soft shimmer to a growling roar. While her folk-inspired songs are mainly of heartbreak and renewal, they’re the perfect thing for summer days swinging in the hammock or rainy afternoons cuddled up with a warm cup of tea.
8pm – OWL LIGHT TRIO
Owl Light Trio are Jim Penny on concertina, Jane Griffiths on fiddle and Colin Fletcher on guitar. All three have deep roots in traditional music and share a passion for tunes from northern Europe, particularly those from Ireland and Brittany, and they draw upon their combined experience and influences to produce spell- binding arrangements.
8.30pm – NOREEN CULLEN & ADRIAN BURNS
