We’re delighted to announce a new way to watch shows at the Old Fire Station: Theatre Club.

You might remember our call-out, this time last year, for the Programming Committee. We’ve had an amazing year with the Committee, who have programmed a whopping 29 shows during their time in post, with more still being booked in.

As the end of their term approached, we started thinking about how we could open things up a bit more, and try something new. The result is Theatre Club, a chance for everyone to get together, see shows, discuss those shows and talk to us about what we programme at the OFS.

Join the OFS Theatre Club!

It’s like a book club, but for theatre.

Theatre Club meets monthly, before and after a show. Come along 30mins beforehand to get a free soft drink, meet new people and hear some context about what the show is and why we programmed it. Then stay on for 30mins afterwards to discuss what you thought. It’s perfect for people who:

  • Want to come to shows but don’t want to attend alone
  • Are new to theatregoing and want to learn more about it
  • Want to meet people with a similar interest in theatre and performance

This is an alcohol-free club

We’re excited to create a sober space that everyone can join. Please be aware that if you’re attending a Theatre Club gathering, you won’t be drinking alcohol that evening.

How do I join?

It’s easy – just book a ticket for any (or all) of the shows below. Then join us in the Gallery, 30mins before the start of the performance. We’ll be there!

If paying for the ticket is a barrier for you (and if the £1 ticket allocation has sold out), just email Sarah and we can help: sarah.cassidy@oldfirestation.org.uk

★★★★★ “It is tricky to write 350 sensible words when you come out a show simply thinking “Wow! F**k! Wow!’” – THE SCOTSMAN

We chose these shows to start Theatre Club off with three completely different pieces: puppetry, theatre, and comedy. We hope that in future, Theatre Club members will help choose the shows we see,
