Through her practice, Jayne Wilton explores ways to capture and make visible the human breath. She uses a wide range of traditional and non traditional approaches to render the breath’s ephemeral dynamics. Wilton graduated with an MA from The Slade School of Fine Art in 2010 where she used sculpture, printmaking, drawing, photography and installation to create a body of work titled Drawing Breath.
In attempting to capture a trace of the breath, Wilton makes permanent and resilient the fragile and intangible. She was recently Leverhulme funded Artist in Residence at the School of Engineering and Design, Brunel University.
