“He’s going to ask you to marry him. But first…”
It’s the biggest night of Alex’s life. He’s going to propose to his girlfriend. But there’s something he hasn’t told her, something that has affected his whole life: Alex has a stammer.
Follow Alex on a break-neck ride through his past, from classroom struggles to call-centre nightmares. Based on real, lived experiences, Unspoken is a window into the lives of the more than 70 million people around the world who stammer. Join us for a show that’s part theatre, part research study, and provide data for a paper on how society views people with speech impediments.
How do you tell someone you love them, if you can’t find the words?
Unspoken was written by Neil Rathmell in collaboration with Dr Trudy Stewart.
Unspoken is supported by UCL, Oxford City Council and the OHSRC, part of Oxford Hospitals Charity.
