The OFS’s Oxford Fringe line-up has been curated by Tom Crawshaw of Underground Venues (who also organises the hugely popular Buxton Fringe). He’s selected some of the best local and national theatre, comedy, music, magic, family shows and more, specifically for us. 27 acts, 2 weeks: we’re all looking forward to kick-off on 22 May!

We asked some of the folks in the Old Fire Station office what they’re most looking forward to between now and 6 June. Click here to see the full programme.

Jeremy Spafford, Director:

‘Can’t wait for bloominauschwitz.  I’ve been wanting to get Menagerie Theatre to Oxford for ages, and am delighted to be welcoming them to the Old Fire Station. Patrick Morris is a great theatre maker.’

Becca Vallins, General Manager:

‘Impossibly hard choice …I am excited by the return of Morgan & West to the Old Fire Station – looking forward to expressing my inner child.  Also the return of the SatMatCo – bound to be a weepy but a goody.’

Alex Coke, Marketing Manager:

‘I’ve really enjoyed the Beta Males’ sketch shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, so The Beta Males Go Solo is on my list. Also Harriet Kemsley – anyone who’s supported Katherine Ryan must be good!’

Sarah Mossop, Visual Arts Programme Manager:

‘My choice has to be John Cage and Teeny Duchamp Play Chess in front of a Live Audience because I’m intrigued by the prospect of “a subversive commentary on today’s contemporary arts”!’

Harriet Peacock, Visual Arts Retail Coordinator:

‘As a child of the 90s, Pond Wife sounds just up my street… The Little Mermaid, retold with the cheesy pop songs of my childhood? I will definitely be there, probably embarrassing myself with my over-enthusiastic dancing!’

Rowan Padmore, Front of House Manager:

‘I can’t wait to see Rob Gee’s Fruitcake:Ten Commandments from the Psych Ward, which I’ve heard is brilliant! It’s won several awards, and the trailer is very intriguing.’
