The group exhibition ‘Between Here and There’ considers the intersection of place, history, and memory within the work of five MFA graduates at the University of Oxford’s Ruskin School of Art. Each artist unfolds identity – its diasporic formations and its global influences – across an array of mediums, including sculpture, installation and painting. Viewed in concert, the works by the artists speak to questions of origins; of displacements; and of the narration, and contestation, of identity.
By bringing these artists together, ‘Between Here and There’ provides a reimagining of identity. The exhibition creates an immersive space where movement, memory, and belonging are constantly renegotiated, fostering a deeper understanding of the relational, personal, and collective experiences that shape our world, and ourselves, today.
