I am primarily a watercolour and mixed media artist creating abstract landscapes in response to the seasons. Paintings begin with a simple motif, a pattern or the swirl of a line of mountain. I begin working from a preliminary sketch created in situ but soon the work becomes intuitive and instinctual, taking on a life of its own as I add layers of paint and focus on the remembered spirit of a place.

My passion lies in stretching the limits of watercolour and seeing just what the paint can do. I often use experimental techniques such as using white and black paint, metallic inks, graphite and charcoal.

Alongside this I am a workshop facilitator, creative enabler and confidence builder who loves to help others find their creative path in life. I teach classes and run workshops in and around the Banbury. You can currently find me at The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury and Bicester college and in Hook Norton and Cropredy running the local art groups.
